2025 Advent Calendar: Week #1
Our 2025 #ThereForME Advent Calendar launches
We’re very excited to be sharing the first two doors from our 2025 #ThereForME Advent Calendar!
To recap, each day throughout December we’ll be celebrating someone who has been #ThereForME, based on nominations from the community. We’ll be opening the doors of our advent calendar every day on social media. You can follow along on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X and Bluesky. Or, if you prefer to take your advent calendar at a slower pace, we’ll be sharing each week’s calendar stars every Tuesday right here on our Substack with all the doors we’ve opened in the previous week.
In our first update, we’re sharing our first two advent calendar stars and the Christmas messages from those who nominated them.
December 1
Kicking off our advent calendar, behind door number one is Sue. Sue was nominated by her mum, Sarah, for her amazing support.
Here’s the message Sarah left with her nomination:
“Sooz, you listen to me and send caring messages of support, which means so much. It keeps me going. You’re like a breath of fresh air.
This year you also fundraised a lot of money for M.E Research. I appreciate you so much. Lots and lots of love, Mum”
Thanks for being #ThereForME, Sue!
December 2
Behind door number two is Melanie De Luca, who works as a physio with Action for ME. Mel was nominated by Lizzy, who shared this message:
Mel,
You are such an incredible support to me, and so many others with M.E too.
It’s such a relief to know you understand and will help however you can, and I appreciate it so much.
It’s made this time a lot less scary and lonely.
Thank you, Lizzy x
A special thank you to Mel, both for sending a snap wearing a fabulous Christmas jumper and for being our first #ThereForME healthcare worker of the advent calendar!
December 3
You’ll have to wait! We’ll be back in your inbox next Tuesday with the next round of doors. Or, if you have social media and aren’t following us already, you can find us on Instagram, Twitter/X, Bluesky and Facebook. Keep your eyes peeled at 9am tomorrow for our next advent calendar star.
We’ll see you next time.
