Thank you for this heartfelt post. Speaking for myself, I’m physically & mentally exhausted. The sadness, frustration, and loss of hope caused by our government and the lack of delivery from the Delivery Plan have removed all desire to continue fighting for this disease — at least for now.

This is my 17th ME Awareness Week and, as my own ill health issues increase in intensity, I am coming to the realisation that this bedbound life may never improve.

As the isolation mounts, being forgotten becomes more stark. The lack of hope from the NHS — which I was a part of for so many years as a qualified nurse — makes me wonder how I will continue to live in this way. But I have to remind myself that I have a wonderful family and, although it feels as though my life has finished, I can still look on and see how the lives of my children and their partners are still growing.

And even though I am in a sad place right now during this ME Awareness Week, I believe that I will come out the other side at some point.

Thank you, ThereForME, for all you have done, and I look forward to hearing your news moving forward. šŸ’™
